Scotland Deluxe

What could be better than striking a ball on the fairways of the greatest links courses of the world. As you glide through the week you'll make your way through Turnberry, Gleneagles, Carnoustie and Prestwick.

All tee-off times are guaranteed on all the courses listed

You will be staying in a classic double room in the Gleneagles Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis for 3 nights. The hotel provides excellent evening cuisine and it is advisable to book dinner on arrival, however the nearby restaurants are also of a high standard and provide a change of scenery so we have left the choice up to you.

  • Day 1 You tee off right outside your door on the KINGS COURSE GLENEAGLES set in the heart of some of the most glorious countryside in Scotland. If it were possible to add to the splendour and challenge of the Kings Course one must look to the shock of colour that wraps the surrounding mountains and feel that this surely must be heaven.
  • Day 2 CARNOUSTIE has been described as the greatest golf course in the British Isles and there is no disputing it is certainly one of the toughest Championship links. In 1931 it staged its first Open Championship. Scotland is the land of 'burns' - streams and rivers - and Carnoustie is famous for them, often in the most unfriendly places .
  • Day 3 This is a day to relax and sightsee as you journey to TURNBERRY for the rest of your tour. This journey is a perfect way to sit back, relax and sight-see after the challenge of Carnoustie. Ailsa Craig is mesmerising and the views to the distant Isle of Arran and Mull of Kintyre can be equally captivating. Check into the Turnberry Hotel and enjoy your evening meal.
  • Day 4 PRESTWICK golf course is steeped in ancient stories of monks and competitive golfers who staged their own Open Championship. The 3rd hole is probably the most famous; here the golfer must carry the vast Cardinal Bunker which stretches the width of the fairway. Later on this round the golfer must confront the Himalayas (5th) and the Alps (17th). At least when all else fails you can sit down and look at the marvellous views. Return to the Turnberry Hotel for evening meal and overnight in the hotel
  • Day 5 TURNBERRY'S AILSA COURSE has hosted some of the greatest golfing events in the world including the Open Championship. Turnberry's first Open Championship was held here in 1977 and is generally considered to have been one of the greatest head to head's with Nicklaus and Watson battling it out over the last six holes.

Friday evening will be the final night in this memorable tour, and as you sit down for your evening meal it is time to reflect on the putts that were nearly holed and the what if's , but perhaps the beauty of memory is that it is your own. The shine in your eyes and the skip to your step will tell the tale as you return home to say "Oh yes I've played that course " and relay your round over and over.............
